At the center of the Andromeda Galaxy is a packed cluster of stars appearing as a brilliant point of light. Each individual vignette in this book is subtitled and named as one of the corresponding stars amongst the deep-sky Andromeda constellation. The Andromeda Galaxy is the closest large spiral galaxy next to our own, and this proximity makes it one of the few visible to the naked eye. There is a prediction that Andromeda is on a collision course with our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and all of the contained stars will be affected by the cosmic merger.
ANDROMEDA is a dedication to those who have inspired me with their own creative pursuits and individualistic expressions. The intersection of our worlds have defined the synergistic approach to make compelling, experiential portraits produced both digitally and on Polaroid film. In my effort to continue the collaborative process, I interviewed each individual to find their inspirations, and these responses form the typology of thoughts in the book. Bold approaches to color and light coalesce the thread of emotive and atmospheric qualities across the work in order to speak to one’s essence, and the universe within.

The volatile and unpredictable nature of Polaroid film is considered a failure by some,
yet this inspired me to embrace its capabilities and revel in its charm.
The immediacy of the medium and authenticity of each individual Polaroid has fostered much more personal experiences.
